An engineer who teaches cooking.
Before cooking became a full-time job, Che Nom (Normah Bakar) worked as a senior telecommunications engineer at Digi Telecommunications and Ericsson Malaysia. Today Che Nom teaches Malaysian home cooking full time on YouTube, social media and ResepiCheNom.com.
The approach

Che Nom’s aim is simple: to get people, especially younger Malaysians, interested and confident in cooking, and to share Malaysian and Southeast Asian food with the world.
Every recipe is tested before it is published. Viewer feedback shapes what comes next, and each dish is balanced between what is practical for an everyday home kitchen and what tastes great.
Many viewers say they learnt to cook from scratch with the videos, from first-time cooks to husbands preparing meals for the family during their wife’s confinement period.

Receives the Gold Play Button in February. Top-five finalist for Youtuber Popular at Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian 34.
